The Te Awamutu-born Kiwi wood-chopping legend, who claimed over a hundred world titles in his illustrious career, succumbed to a relentless battle with an aggressive form of cancer. He was 49 years old.

Jason’s journey in wood chopping began at a tender age, inspired by his late father Pae Wynyard, who himself was a highly accomplished axeman. In addition to his world championships, he also secured the prestigious Stihl Timbersports Series title an incredible 14 times.
