It is unknown how much Whitlock presently earns as the host of Fearless with Jason Whitlock, a show owned by the conservative media corporation Blaze Media.

Whitlock’s first employment was as a part-time reporter for The Herald-Times in Bloomington, Indiana, followed by a full-time position as a reporter for The Charlotte Observer.

After about a year, he moved over to The Ann Arbor News, where he spent two years covering the University of Michigan.
