He was selected by the Miami Dolphins in the seventh round of the 2018 NFL draft 229th overall. Following the release of undrafted rookie Greg Joseph, he was appointed the Dolphins’ starting kicker.
Jason Sanders made his NFL debut against the Tennessee Titans in the season opener. In the 27-20 victory, he made all three field goal tries and both extra point attempts.
Jason Sanders made 18 of 20 field goals in 16 games, good for the fifth-best field goal conversion rate in franchise history. Sanders was named to the Pro Football Writers of America’s 2018 all-first team following his rookie season.
