Juan is the son of the Vice President of Ecuador, doctor Alfredo Borrero Vega.
Juan and Tookes got engaged in September 2020, before they tied the knots a year after at the Iglesia y Convento de San Francisco in Quito, Ecuador.
On February 23, 2023, they welcomed a baby girl, Mia Victoria.
