Jarvis Charles Landry was born on November 28, 1992, in Convent, Louisiana, United States. There is not much information regarding his family background, early life and siblings.

Jarvis Landry has an older brother named Gerard, who played wide receiver at Southern University in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He also has a cousin, Glenn Dorsey, a defensive lineman who was a standout at LSU from 2004 to 2007.

Jarvis Landry attended Lutcher High School in Lutcher, Louisiana, where he was a three-sport athlete in football, basketball, and track. Rivals.com rated him as a five-star recruit and he was ranked as the nation’s fourth-best wide receiver.

Jarvis Landry proceeded to attend Louisiana State University where he played college football for the Fighting Tigers from 2011 to 2013 under head coach Les Miles.  He was drafted by the Miami Dolphins in the second round with the 63rd overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft.
