James D. Brubaker Obituary

James D. Brubaker was a film producer and production manager from the United States. James D. Brubaker died on January 3, 2023, at his home in Beverly Hills, California, of complications from multiple strokes

James D. Brubaker was born in the city of Los Angeles. He went to California State University, Los Angeles, and served in the United States Army.

He began his career in the film industry as a driver, transporting horses to Western film sets. He received a 1999 Directors Guild of America Award and was nominated for a 1998 Primetime Emmy Award for his work on Gia.

James D. Brubaker worked for Universal Pictures as an executive in charge of production supervision from 2003 to 2008.

James D. Brubaker was a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences, The Directors Guild of America, and The Producers Guild of America, as well as the Los Angeles Sports and Entertainment Commission.

He also lectured at UCLA and USC film schools and gave disadvantaged youth training opportunities on his film sets.
