British singer, songwriter, and musician James Blunt and his wife Sofia Wellesley have two sons. In 2016, James confirmed whilst speaking at the Oxford Union that he had welcomed a son with his wife.

The godfather of their elder son is Ed Sheeran, and the godmother was Carrie Fisher. The couple are very private about their children.

Blunt lives primarily on the Spanish island of Ibiza. James Blunt is a patron of Help for Heroes, a charity that raises funds to provide better facilities for wounded British servicemen, and has performed benefit concerts for the organisation.

He raises funds for Médecins Sans Frontières, a medical charity. He first came across the non-governmental organisation while conducting operations in Kosovo. He has been an active supporter since then, holding meet-and-greet auctions at many of his concerts and filming the documentary Return to Kosovo, in which he visited the people and places he met while there. Blunt is also an advocate for environmental causes.
