Crowder agreed to terms with the Phoenix Suns on November 28, 2020. Crowder scored 19 points in Game 6 of the series, leading Phoenix to the Finals with a 130-103 victory.

He was the only player on either team with Finals experience in the finals. The Suns were defeated in six games by the Milwaukee Bucks.
Crowder attended South Georgia Technical College before transferring to Howard College, where he led the team to the NJCAA Men’s Division I Basketball Championship in his sophomore season
Crowder was also named State Farm Junior College Player of the Year while at Howard College. He later transferred to Marquette, where he was named Big East Player of the Year as a senior.
