Dr Kelly Tyson is the wife of Jacob Trouba an American professional ice hockey defenseman and captain of the New York Rangers of the National Hockey League (NHL). The couple got married in June 2020.

The couple met over 10 years ago at a party in Ann Arbor, where Trouba was a freshman at Michigan and Kelly Tyson-Trouba was a senior. It was Halloween. He was dressed as Superman, and she was Supergirl.
They had an on-and-off relationship. After one year of college, he was off to Winnipeg as the ninth pick in the 2012 draft, and she was off to Sydney for a post-graduate fellowship.

She earned a master’s degree in international public health from the University of Sydney. When she returned from Australia, they spent some time together in Winnipeg before she moved to Fort Lauderdale to attend medical school at Nova Southeastern.
Kelly Trouba is currently enrolled in a residency at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York.
Kelly Tyson-Trouba suffers from epilepsy, and her seizures became more frequent as she neared the end of medical school. She has found a neurologist and medication that helped her seizures stop.
