Jack Willis was a Journalist and television executive who won several Emmys and a Polk Award for his innovative films and news and documentary programming during the years of cable and public broadcasting.

He died on February 9, in Zurich. He was 87. When he was in his late 30s, Mr Willis broke his neck in a bodysurfing accident that temporarily left him a quadriplegic before he miraculously recovered, his wife said, inspiring a television movie.

Since physician-assisted suicide is permitted in Switzerland, better than 2000 people journey there a year to complete their lives. Jack was involved in a tragic accident that left him confined to a wheelchair and bedridden for the remainder of his life.
