Jack Black was born to his parents, Thomas William Black and Judith Love Cohen.

His parents were both satellite engineers and they divorced when he was just 10 years old.

Black’s mother, Judith, was born Jewish.

She worked on the “Minuteman nuclear missile guidance system, the Apollo lunar module guidance system, the science ground station for the Hubble Space Telescope.”

Judith also doubled as a writer, and had three other children from her other relationships – scientist Neil Siegel, Howard Siegel, and Rachel Siegel.

Jack Black is an actor, comedian, and musician, known for appearing in the several movies, including Jumanji.

Born on August 28, 1969, in California, Black has role-played as a voice actor in DreamWorks Animation’s Kung Fu Panda, as the giant panda Po.

He also stared in High Fidelity (2000), Shallow Hal (2001), Orange County (2002), School of Rock (2003), Envy (2004), King Kong (2005), The Holiday (2006), Gulliver’s Travels (2010), Bernie (2011), The House with a Clock in Its Walls (2018), and the  TV series Tenacious D.

As a singer, Black leads the band Tenacious D, which began in 1994.

The group has so far produced four studio albums – Tenacious D, The Pick of Destiny, Rize of the Fenix, and Post-Apocalypto.

In 2022, Black’s music video for “Tribute” garnered over 112 million views on YouTube.

Black has won a number of awards including the Golden Globe award and has earned a star on Hollywood’s Walk of Fame.
