Holby City, the BBC medical drama that aired for 23 years, has come to an end with an emotional finale that paid tribute to the NHS. The final episode aired on March 29, 2022.

Fletch and his friends were forced to say goodbye to Jac Naylor (Rosie Marcel), who died after battling a brain tumour, in the medical drama’s final episode

The grief will be carried over into Saturday’s episode of Casualty when Fletch visits the ED after Jac’s death.

A Casualty spokesperson confirmed the appearance to Metro.co.uk, revealing a touching scene in which Fletch runs into Charlie (Derek Thompson).

Holby City is a British medical drama television series that aired on BBC One every week. It premiered on 12 January 1999 as a spin-off from the established BBC medical drama Casualty, created by Tony McHale and Mal Young; the show ran until 29 March 2022.

It follows the lives of medical and ancillary staff at the fictional Holby City Hospital, the same hospital as Casualty, in the fictional city of Holby, and includes character and plot crossovers with both Casualty.
