James Tyree Poston, a professional golfer from the United States who competes on the PGA Tour and has won twice, was born on June 1st, 1993.

Poston set a tournament record for the North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) while playing golf for Hickory High School in high school. At college, Poston competed for Western Carolina University where he won six times including two straight Southern Conference titles.

Poston, who began 2016 without status on any tour, made it into the United Leasing Championship on the Web.com Tour and placed T23. His performance qualified him for the Rex Hospital Open, where a tie for third place gained him the title of Special Temporary Member for the coming campaign.

Poston finished 10th on the money list for the regular season and was given a 2017 PGA Tour card thanks to five further top-15 finishes, including two second-place results.

Poston won the Wyndham Championship on August 4, 2019, after shooting an 8-under 62 in the final round and playing without making a bogey for the whole competition. This was Poston’s first professional triumph. He won the PGA Tour event, becoming the first player to do so without making a bogey since 1974.
