William Anthony Perry was a defensive lineman for the Chicago Bears for the majority of his 10 seasons in the National Football League (NFL). He was so big that he earned the moniker “The Refrigerator.” His selection by the Bears in the first round of the 1985 NFL Draft came from his college football career at Clemson University.

As a part of the Bears team that won the franchise’s lone Super Bowl in Super Bowl XX, Perry rose to fame during his rookie campaign. In goalline situations during the season, Perry, who weighed 335 lb (152 kg) at the time, set the record for the heaviest player to score a touchdown.
