Tom Browning was a professional baseball pitcher from the United States. Tom Browning is not in the MLB Hall of Fame. However, In December 2005, Browning led fan balloting wire-to-wire to become a 2006 Reds Hall of Famer.

He was a key piece in the Reds 1990 Championship. Browning was invited to spring training as a special instructor by new Reds CEO Bob Castellini in February 2006.
Browning was named pitching coach of the Reds’ Rookie Advanced level Billings Mustangs farm club in 2007.
Tom Browning pitched for the Cincinnati Reds (1984-1994) and the Kansas City Royals during his 12-year Major League Baseball career (1995).

Tom Browning started 38 games in 1985 and went 20-9 with a 3.55 ERA and 155 strikeouts. He finished second in National League Rookie of the Year voting to St. Louis Cardinals outfielder Vince Coleman.
On December 19, 2022, Boone County, Kentucky Sheriff’s Department officers and emergency personnel responded to Browning’s home in Union, Kentucky.
When they arrived, Browning was not breathing, and resuscitation attempts were futile. At 1:13 p.m. Eastern Standard Time, he was declared dead.
