American BMX legend Thomas Joseph Lavin has been hosting The Challenge on MTV since the show’s twelfth season.

In Las Vegas, Nevada, Thomas Joseph Lavin was born. When Lavin was two years old, he started riding bicycles. He eventually turned pro after winning his first professional competition at the age of 19.
He has participated in competitions like the X Games and the Dew Tour. He won gold three times, silver once, and three bronzes at the X Games.
He has won the Gravity Games, the DK Dirt Circuit, the European title, and the CFB Championship.

Is TJ Lavin Disabled?
Lavin knows how a disability can potentially change a person’s life. In October of 2010, extreme sports champion, TJ Lavin suffered serious bleeding on the brain, a broken wrist, and an orbital fracture after a bike crash left him in a coma for 9 days.
Coming out of surgery, Lavin’s body and mind underwent major damage.
Does TJ Lavin Still Do BMX?
Just as The Challenge has changed over those 25 seasons, so has Lavin’s life. After a life-threatening crash, while competing in the Dew Action Sports Tour in 2010, he ended up in a medically induced coma after which he contracted pneumonia.
He since made a full recovery but has since stopped riding BMX professionally.
