Timothee Chalamet is bilingual in English and French and has dual citizenship in the United States and France as a result of his French father.
Chalamet spent his childhood summers in Le Chambon-sur-Lignon, a small French village two hours outside of Lyon, at the home of his paternal grandparents. He stated that his time in France caused him to struggle with cross-cultural identity issues.

In 2014, Timothée made his debut in the film industry with a small role in the movie “Men, Women & Children.” However, it was his breakout role as Elio Perlman in Luca Guadagnino’s coming-of-age drama “Call Me by Your Name” that gained him widespread recognition.
