In Gloucester, England, they ran a boarding house where they tortured, raped, and murdered young women and girls, some of whom were their own daughters.
Many of the victims’ bodies were buried in the garden or beneath the house. The bodies of nine victims were discovered on the property in 1994, and Fred West was charged with their murders.
He was also suspected of murdering a number of other people, including his daughter Heather, who went missing in 1987 and was never found.
Rosemary West was also charged with multiple murder counts and convicted in 1995. She is currently in prison serving a life sentence.

Is the West house still there?
The Wests’ house, which became known as the “House of Horrors”, was bought by the local council and demolished in 1996 to make way for a footpath.
A similar decision was taken with Ian Huntley’s house in 2004, two years after the Soham murders of Jessica Chapman and Holly Wells.
Is 25 Cromwell Street still there?
Unfortunately for dark tourists out there, 25 Cromwell Street is no more. It was torn down in 1996, two years after the Wests were arrested. In the end, it was bought by Gloucester City Council and has been replaced by a path lined with trees.
