Good Friday is a national public holiday and recognised as a “restricted trading day”.
This means that some major retailers and venues may be open, but expect the large majority of them, like bottle shops, to be closed.
Good Friday, according to Christian belief, marks the day that Jesus—who is the son of God, or God manifested in human form—was crucified and died a human death.
It is observed during Holy Week as part of the Paschal Triduum. It is also known as Holy Friday, Great Friday, Great and Holy Friday (also Holy and Great Friday), and Black Friday.
