Is Stephen Darby still married to Steph Houghton?

The Women’s Super League team Manchester City and the England women’s national team both employ professional footballer Stephanie Houghton. Houghton began her club career with her hometown Sunderland in her native North East England before moving on to Leeds United in 2007 and Arsenal Ladies in 2010.

For five years, Houghton played at Sunderland to start her career. She participated in Sunderland’s promotion from the Northern Division in 2005–06, and in 2006–07, she was named the FA Young Player of the Year.

The first female athlete to grace the cover of Shoot magazine was Houghton in October 2014.

When Houghton was presented with the Freedom of the City of Sunderland in March 2023, the Sunderland Echo inquired about the correct way to pronounce her last name.
