Is Sidney Crosby the youngest captain?
Crosby became the captain of the Penguins on May 31, 2007, at the age of 19 years and 297 days. While this made him one of the youngest captains in NHL history, Crosby was not the absolute youngest.

That honor belongs to Connor McDavid, who was named captain of the Edmonton Oilers in 2016 at the age of 19 years and 266 days. Nevertheless, Crosby’s appointment as captain at such a young age is a testament to his poise, skill, and leadership qualities.
