Is Sergei Pavlovich a wrestler?

Born on May 13, 1992 in the village of Orlovsky, Rostov Oblast, Sergei Pavlovich began to engage in Greco-Roman wrestling at age 5, under the guidance of coach Alexander Fedorovich Aloyan. However, Pavlovich stopped training in wrestling at the 11th grade.

After serving in the army, Pavlovich began to train in army hand-to-hand fighting and combat sambo.

He began his professional MMA career in 2014 under the Fight Nights Global promotion, under which he won 12 fights without suffering a single defeat.

He made his UFC debut on 24 November 2018 at UFC Fight Night 141 against Alistair Overeem but lost the fight via TKO in the first round.

On April 22, 2023, at UFC Fight Night 222, Pavlovich defeated Curtis Blaydes via TKO in the first round, bringing his record-setting streak of first round finishes to 6, while also tying with Don Frye for second place for all time consecutive UFC KO/TKO finishes (behind only Chuck Liddell).

Pavlovich’s blistering performance earned him his fourth UFC Performance Of The Night award and a performance bonus of $50,000.
