The average temperature in Busan is generally higher than in Seoul. However, the temperature difference between the two cities is not significant.

Seoul is colder than Busan in winter, but hotter in summer. The average high temperature in Seoul ranges from 34°F (1°C) in January to 84°F (29°C) in August, while in Busan it ranges from 45°F (7°C) to 84°F (29°C) in the same months.

Busan has more rainfall than Seoul, especially in summer. The average monthly rainfall in Busan is 10.4 inches (264 mm), while in Seoul it is 11.6 inches (295 mm). However, most of the rain falls in July and August, when Busan receives 13.6 and 12.8 inches (346 and 325 mm) respectively, while Seoul receives 15.9 and 14.1 inches (404 and 358 mm) respectively.

Busan has less snowfall than Seoul and milder winters. Busan is located in the least snowy area of Korea, that of the southeast coast: here, snowfalls are very rare and generally light. Seoul, on the other hand, can experience heavy snowstorms and freezing temperatures, sometimes dropping below -10 °C (14 °F).
Busan has more sunny days than Seoul, especially in spring and autumn. The percentage of time the sky is clear or partly cloudy in Busan ranges from 40% in July to 74% in December, while in Seoul it ranges from 47% in July to 69% in October.
