Sarah Baartman was a Khoikhoi woman who was exhibited as a freak show attraction in 19th-century Europe under the name Hottentot Venus, a name which was later attributed to at least one other woman similarly exhibited.

Is Sarah Baartman still on display?
Sarah Baartman even though died on 29 December 1815, her exhibition continued. Her brain, skeleton and sexual organs remained on display in Paris museum until 1974. As of 2022, her remains are not on display anymore. However, the remains weren’t repatriated and buried until 2002.
