Ryan signed a five-year contract with the Anaheim Ducks as a free agent on Wednesday, July 13, 2022. The deal is worth $25 million with an annual value of $5 million.
Strome made his professional debut with the Toronto Marlboros of the Greater Toronto Hockey League during the 2008-09 season (GTHL).
Strome previously played in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) for the Barrie Colts before being traded to the Niagara IceDogs during his rookie season.

He was chosen fifth overall by the New York Islanders in the 2011 NHL Entry Draft, and he made his debut with the team during the 2013-14 season.
Strome agreed to terms with the Rangers on a two-year, $9 million contract on November 6, 2020.
On February 20, 2021, Strome became the first player in NHL history to have at least 100 points with both the Islanders and the Rangers.
