Is Rolly Crump a Disney Legend?

Rolly Crump was an American animator and designer noted particularly for his work as a Disney Imagineer. Rolly Crump was named a Disney Legend in 2004.

According to a Los Angeles Times article, Walt Disney handpicked Rolly Crump to design the famous It’s a Small World clock, which was based on the artwork of Disney’s Mary Blair. The attraction debuted at the 1964 New York World’s Fair before moving to Disneyland.

He worked on designs for NBC’s Disney on Parade in 1970, before leaving Disney to work on outside projects such as Busch Gardens, the ABC Wildlife Preserve in Maryland, and Ringling Brothers & Barnum & Bailey Circus World.

In addition to his work for Disney, Crump contributed significantly to the design of Knott’s Berry Farm, Busch Gardens, the Sultan of Oman, and many others.

Crump, a fan and practitioner of pop art and psychedelic posters from the 1960s, designed the packaging for Ernie Ball guitar strings, which is well-known to guitarists everywhere.
