Is Rick Stein a real chef?

Rick Stein is a real chef. He is an English celebrity chef, restaurateur, writer and television presenter.

Along with business partner Jill Stein, he has run the Stein hotel and restaurant business in the UK. He has written over 25 cookery books, and a memoir and made over 30 programmes including 12 cookery series.

Christopher Richard “Rick” Stein, CBE was born on January 4, 1947, in Churchill, United Kingdom. Rick Stein was born and brought up on a farm.

Rick Stein worked at the Great Western Royal Hotel in Paddington as a chef for six months. Rick Stein went to New College, Oxford, where he earned an English degree in 1971.

Rick Stein’s book English Seafood Cookery won the Glenfiddich Award for Food Book of the Year in 1989.

Rick Stein was awarded the OBE in the 2003 New Year Honours for services to tourism in Cornwall. Rick Stein was awarded the CBE in the 2018 New Year Honours for services to the economy.
