Is Rebecca Adlington Still Competing In Olympics?

Rebecca Adlington no longer competes in Olympics as she retired at the age of 23.

Rebecca became the first female on Britain Olympic swimming champion in 48 years, with victories in the 400m and 800m freestyle at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.

Rebecca won bronze in the same two events at the 2012 London Olympics, losing out to 15-year-old American, Katie Ledecky in the latter race. After the Games, Adlington said that she would no longer undertake the 800m, and would not compete in Rio.

Rebecca set a new British, Commonwealth, European and Olympic record of 8:18:06 in the preliminary heats of the women’s 800-meter freestyle final on August 16, 2008.
