Lancashire Cricket is delighted to confirm the signing of England international wicketkeeper-batsman, Phil Salt, on a three-year contract from 2022. 24-year-old Salt joins from Sussex – where he has played since 2015 – and earned a reputation as one of world cricket’s most fearless ball-strikers.
What happened to Phil Salt?
In April 2022, he was bought by the Manchester Originals for the 2022 season of The Hundred.
As a result, he met the Barbados residency requirement, and so was eligible to play for either England or the West Indies.
Whilst in Barbados he played with future Sussex and England colleague Jofra Archer. Salt returned to the United Kingdom at the age of 15, when he attended Reed’s School on a cricket scholarship.
