For example, one of the main characters dies while protecting another from a fatal attack, another character sacrifices himself to seal away a powerful enemy, and another character reveals himself to be the mastermind behind the Dark Hour and attempts to bring about the end of the world. The game’s ending also implies that the protagonist dies after fulfilling his role as the Great Seal which prevents humanity’s extinction.

Persona 3 has received multiple iterations of enhanced re-releases and ports, such as Persona 3 FES, Persona 3 Portable, and Persona 3 Reload. These versions add new content, features, and improvements to the original game.

For example, Persona 3 FES includes an epilogue called The Answer that gives narrative closure to the original game’s ending. Persona 3 Portable adds an optional female protagonist and various quality-of-life changes. Persona 3 Reload is a full remake of the original game for modern platforms that will be released in 2024.
