Is Pedro Martinez in Hall of Fame?

Pedro Martnez is a Dominican-American former Major League Baseball (MLB) starting pitcher who played for five teams from 1992 to 2009, most notably the Boston Red Sox from 1998 to 2004.

Pedro Martinez was elected to the National Baseball Hall of Fame with 91.1% of the vote in January 2015. He is depicted on his Hall of Fame plaque wearing a Boston Red Sox cap.

“I cannot be any prouder to take Red Sox Nation to the Hall of Fame with the logo on my plaque”, Martínez said in a statement. “I am extremely proud to represent Boston and all of New England with my Hall of Fame career.

“I’m grateful to all of the teams for which I played, and especially fans, for making this amazing honour come true.” His number (45) was retired by the Red Sox in a ceremony, two days after his Hall induction.

Pedro Martinez won the Cy Young Award three times and finished second in the American League most valuable player race in 1999, his most dominant year (23-4, 2.07 earned run average).

He set all of these records during a period when hitters, some of whom were fueled by performance-enhancing drugs, were on top.
