In addition to being a former player and coach in the National Basketball Association, Patrick James Riley is an American professional basketball executive.

He was the Miami Heat’s head coach from 1995 to 2003 and again from 2005 to 2008, in addition to serving as the team’s president since 1995.
Riley was three times named NBA Coach of the Year (1989–90, 1992–93, and 1996–97, as head coach of the Lakers, New York Knicks, and Heat, respectively).
Nine NBA All-Star Game teams had him as their head coach: eight times with the Western Conference team (1982, 1983, 1985–1990, all while serving as the Lakers’ head coach) and one time with the Eastern Conference team (1993, as head coach of the Knicks).
