The information reaching us is that Veteran Nollywood Comic Actor, Papa Ajasco, also called Femi Ogunrombi, is dead.

The news of his demise was confirmed in a tweet that was shared by a theatre practitioner, Husseini Shaibu on Sunday.
His tweet reads:
“I have just been reliably informed that the ethnomusicologist, former Music Instructor with #NATIONALTROUPE and one-time stand-in for the ‘Papa Ajasco’ character on the popular #waleadenugaprod comic series ‘Papa Ajasco’ Mr. Femi Ogunrombi is dead.
“I am told that the actor, singer, highlights and trained nurse whom we fondly called ‘Uncle Ogurombo’ (not to his hearing though) passed on this evening (Saturday)”

Papa Ajasco was a stand-in actor for Abiodun Ayoyinka in Wale Adenuga’s Comedy series, Papa Ajasco. The late Abiodun Ayoyinka played the Papa Ajasco role for eight years and Femi Ogunrombi, fitted in for two years.
The deceased Papa Ajasco was a trained and registered nurse. He studied Medical nursing in 1975 and worked at the Accident and Emergency unit in Ikeja Lagos. He diverted into music in 1979 and moved into arts in 1980. He studied at the University of Ife.
Information on his funeral arrangements has not yet been disclosed and details about his family are not yet available.
