Her parents had moved to the United States when she was just two and half years old.

Liukin was inducted into the International Gymnastics Hall of Fame in 2018.

Nastia Liukin Gymnastics Career

Nastia Liukin won her first senior national championships in 2005, winning gold medals on the bars and beam at the World Championships in Melbourne.

She took part in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, China, and won five medals, including the all-around gold medal.

Liukin won several medals at the World Championships. In 2005, she won three gold medals and a silver medal. Subsequently, in 2007, she won two gold medals.

She also earned silver medals on the balance beam and uneven bars, as well as a bronze medal in the floor exercise.

All through her career, Liukin won numerous national titles in the United States and eventually retired from competitive gymnastics in 2012.

Liukin retired in 2012, but still remains relevant in the sport by serving as a commentator for gymnastics games, sports analyst and presenter.
