Soon after turning 18, Suede’s songs started to gain popularity.

With “Back to the Bag,” which reflected on his own experiences over laid-back piano chords and a West Coast beat, he made waves in 2020.

Suede’s self-titled debut EP was released in March 2022, and soon after, he began featuring in collaborations with artists like Young Demon, Cypress Moreno, Lil Weirdo, and others.

Suede was found in the shower area of the Corrective Training Center in Soledad just before 10 p.m. on Tuesday, according to a statement from the California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation.

As a headcount was conducted on Tuesday night about 9:55 p.m., it was apparently established that the rapper (real name Jaime Brugada Valdez) was absent.

According to the reports, CPR was purportedly attempted on the rapper before he was later discovered in another area of the facility.

Despite life-saving efforts, Suede died in the prison medical facility.

Details pertaining to his injuries were not revealed. However, authorities said his death was being investigated as a homicide.

Suede’s attorney, Nicholas Rosenberg, however, told the Los Angeles Times; “They said it was a stabbing to the neck.”
