In June 2023, former Vice President of the United States, Mike Pence announced his intention to run for president in 2024.

“Timeless American values are under assault as never before,” Pence had said in his announcement video, addressing a crowd of supporters in Ankeny, Iowa.

In his speech, Pence had also condemned former president Donald Trump’s ‘reckless’ actions, as regards the incident that took place at the Capitol on January 6, 2021.

While pushing his conservative agenda, Pence called for abortion restrictions.
