Michael Owen is married. He has been married to childhood sweetheart Louise Bonsall who stays away from the limelight. The couple has four children. Gemma Rose, who was confirmed as a Love Island candidate for 2022 on May 30 as well as James Michael, Emily May, and Jessica.

They met in primary school in 1984 and were childhood sweethearts while attending Hawarden High School in Flintshire, Wales. He proposed in their house on Valentine’s Day in 2004, which is also Louise’s birthday.

Originally, they planned to marry at their home, but owing to regulations, they opted for a modest private ceremony before having a blessing at their home in front of many people.
Louise is passionate about horse rescue, and their property has grounds where she can maintain horses and Michael keeps vehicles.
She began riding at the age of seven when she and her brother Andrew attended weekend lessons, and her interest blossomed into working at the riding school and exercising friends’ horses.
