American professional basketball player, Lou Williams has officially announced his retirement from the sport. He made an official announcement on Sunday, June 18, 2023. He was a professional player for 17 years and retired at the age of 36.

His daughter announced was made by his eldest daughter, Jada, in an emotional video posted on YouTube.

One of the last to be drafted, straight to the league. You were eager to make a name for yourself. “Six Man” became your calling card. A role you not only owned but made it to be a lifestyle. Scoring the most points off the bench in the history of the NBA. Crowned the Sixth Man of the Year. Not once, but three times. These achievements shined in lights but were born in the shadows. Injuries, struggles, and relocations, all threatened your will to keep going,” she said.
