Lily-Rose Melody Depp is the daughter of the American actor, producer, and musician Johnny Depp and the French singer, actress, and model Vanessa Paradis.

Lily-Rose was born in Neuilly-sur-Seine, France, west of Paris, on 27 May 1999.
She has a younger brother, John “Jack” Christopher Depp III, and French actress Alysson Paradis is her aunt.
Lily-Rose is a descendant of colonial African-American freedom fighter Elizabeth Key Grinstead. Depp claims to have Native American ancestry through her father.
In 2012, after 14 years together, Depp’s parents separated and arranged joint custody of Depp, who divides her time between Los Angeles, Paris, and New York City.

In March 2021, Johnny Depp starred in City of Lies, which was originally scheduled for 2018, but was released in theaters and streaming services.
The same month, an online petition to bring Depp back to the Pirates franchise, begun four months earlier, reached its goal of 500,000 signatures.
His Pirates co-star Kevin McNally also expressed support for Depp returning to the role. In July 2021, Andrew Levitas, the director of Minamata (2020), accused MGM of trying to bury the film due to Depp’s involvement, with Depp claiming he is being boycotted by the Hollywood industry and calling his changed reputation an “absurdity of media mathematics.”
Minamata was released in the UK and Ireland in August 2021, and in North America in December 2021. The film received positive reviews, with multiple publications praising Depp’s performance as his best in years.
