Laura was born August 8, 1976, in Rome, Italy, and was raised in Glasgow with her siblings.

She was schooled at Laurel Bank School and the University of Edinburgh, where she studied History and graduated with a first-class honours.

She also studied briefly at Georgetown University, where she worked as an intern at the NBC.
In 2015, Laura became the first female political editor of BBC News, a position she held until 2022.
Laura has also hosted Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg, on the BBC, and has been a business editor of ITV News.
Laura has won a number of awards including Broadcaster Of The Year and Journalist Of The Year Award.
In 2019, she was listed amongst the top 20 ‘most influential Londoners’ by Evening Standard.
