Is Jesus ALOU in the Hall of Fame?

Jess Alou was a professional baseball outfielder from the Dominican Republic. Alou is not a member of the Hall of Fame. Alou, on the other hand, is a baseball royalty in the Dominican Republic and one of the most successful players of his generation.

On September 23, 2008, Jess Alou received the Hispanic Heritage Baseball Museum Hall of Fame Pioneer Award during a pre-game ceremony at Minute Maid Park.

Jesus made his Major League debut in 1963 with the Giants and retired in 1979, despite missing the 1976-77 seasons.

He left the Giants after being selected in the 1968 Expansion Draft by the Montreal Expos. He never played for Montreal, which traded him to the Houston Astros in the offseason of 1968-69.

Alou returned to the Bay Area with the A’s in 1973, hitting.306 as a pinch hitter down the stretch to help Oakland win its second World Series in a row.

He played for the San Francisco Giants (1963-68), Houston Astros (1969-73; 1978-79), Oakland Athletics (1973-74), and New York Mets during his 15-year MLB career (1975).

Jesus Alou died on Friday, March 10 2023. The news of his death was shared by  ESPN’s Enrique Rojas,

ESPN’s Enrique Rojas went on to say that Alou had two “cardiovascular accidents” recently, but that he was not known to be suffering from a “serious illness.”
