Is Jake Gyllenhaal Matilda Ledger Godfather?

Ledger and his wife Williams welcomed a daughter, Matilda Rose, in 2005 and asked Gyllenhaal, who starred in Ang Lee’s film adaptation of ”Brokeback Mountain” with Heath Ledger to be her godfather.

When Ledger died, Gyllenhaal stepped in to help Williams care for Matilda ,who was just three years old at that time. It clearly showed in Gyllenhaal action how strong the connection between Ledger and Gyllenhaal was.

The two shared an unbreakable bond. Gyllenhaal stated in an interview with People ”Personally, it affected me in many ways I can’t necessarily put in words or even  would want to talk about publicity”.

This shows how the death of Ledger affected him so much. Though Gyllenhaa fids it difficult to discuss their friendship due to the grief he feels from Ledgers death.

Gyllenhaal spoke briefly on an interview with NPR in 2015.”I miss him as a human beingand I miss working with him and what an unfortunate thing it is that we won’t be able to see his beauty expression.”
