Governor of Illinois, J.B. Pritzker tested positive for COVID-19, on Tuesday, following his trip to Florida where he delivered a speech.

Pritzker had reportedly had close contacts with several people and had begun to experience mild symptoms.

The governor is currently undergoing treatment with the antiviral medication Paxlovid.

“I’ve tested positive for COVID-19 and am experiencing mild symptoms, but thanks to anti-viral medications like Paxlovid and vaccines I’ll be on the mend much quicker,” “Thank you for all the well wishes!”, Pritzker tweeted on Tuesday morning.

Who Is J.B Pritzker?

J.B Pritzker is a politician, philanthropist, and entrepreneur.

Pritzker was born in a Jewish family, and grew up in Atherton, California.

He has been serving as governor of Illinois since 2019.

The Pritzker family is one of the richest in the United States, owning the worldwide hotel chain Hyatt.

They have been on Forbes list of “America’s Richest Families” since it began in1982.

Pritzker has several venture capital and investment firms like the Pritzker Group, where he functions as a managing partner.

Pritzker is a democrat and had won the governoship election in 2018, defeating Republican incumbent Bruce Rauner.
