He spent his entire National Hockey League (NHL) career with the New York Rangers. He holds several franchise records, including most career wins, most career shutouts, and most saves in a single season.
Henrik Lundqvist was nominated for the Vezina Trophy in each of his first three seasons before winning it in 2012. He is the only goaltender in NHL history to have eleven 30-win seasons in his first twelve seasons.

He holds the NHL record for the most wins by a European-born goaltender. His dominant play during his rookie season earned him the nickname “King Henrik” from the New York media and Rangers fans.
He led the Swedish men’s team to their second Olympic gold medal at the 2006 Winter Olympics in Turin, Italy.
During his time in Sweden, he rose to become the league’s best goaltender, winning the Honken Trophy three years in a row (2003, 2004, and 2005).
In 2005, he also received two of Sweden’s most prestigious awards, the Guldpucken (Golden Puck) and the Guldhjälmen (Golden Helmet).
