Joining Judas Priest in May 1974, Tipton swiftly made his mark during the recording of “Rocka Rolla,” contributing his distinctive guitar parts. The album laid the foundation for Tipton’s enduring role as an integral member of the band.

Tipton’s prowess reached new heights on “Sad Wings of Destiny,” where his complex guitar work on tracks like “Tyrant,” “Dreamer Deceiver,” and “Victim of Changes” showcased his instrumental dexterity.

His songwriting prowess also emerged on tracks like “Prelude,” “Epitaph,” and “The Ripper.”

The band’s musical evolution continued with the release of their seventeenth album, “Redeemer of Souls,” in 2014, accompanied by a world tour that underscored Judas Priest’s enduring legacy.

In a poignant turn of events in 2018, Tipton stepped down from touring after revealing his diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease.

Despite this, his indomitable spirit remained, and he was rightfully inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in November 2022.
