Neuralink is a company founded by Elon Musk that aims to create brain-computer interfaces (BCIs) that can connect the human mind to external devices. Neuralink has recently received approval from the US Food and Drug Administration to conduct its first clinical trial of its experimental device in humans.

The device, called Telepathy, is a computer chip that is implanted into the skull and can detect electrical signals from the brain. Neuralink claims that Telepathy could be used for a range of therapeutic purposes, such as restoring vision, movement, and communication for people with disabilities.

However, Neuralink’s technology also raises some serious ethical and safety concerns. Some experts have questioned the reliability and validity of Neuralink’s animal experiments, which have involved killing more than 1,500 animals during rushed trials.
Others have expressed doubts about the long-term effects of implanting a foreign object into the brain, which could cause infection, inflammation, or rejection.
Moreover, some have criticized Musk’s vision of creating a “general population device” that could enable mind-reading, telepathy, and symbiosis with artificial intelligence. They argue that such a device could pose threats to privacy, autonomy, identity, and human dignity.
