Stating his reasons, Haye said:

“I watched a TV documentary about how animals are farmed, killed and prepared for us to eat. I saw all those cows and pigs and realised I couldn’t be a part of it any more. It was horrible. I did some research to make sure I could still obtain enough protein to fight and, once satisfied that I could, I stopped. I’ll never go back.”

David Haye launched his own range of vegan protein powder and appeared in a promotional video by PETA called David Haye: Vegan for Animals in 2016.

In November 2012, David Haye took part in the twelfth series of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!, in which he finished third.

In 2008, David Haye moved up to heavyweight, winning the WBA title in 2009 after defeating Nikolai Valuev.

Along with Evander Holyfield and Oleksandr Usyk, David Haye is one of only three boxers in history to have unified the cruiserweight world titles and become a world heavyweight champion.
