David Van Cortlandt Crosby, an American singer, guitarist, and songwriter who had a distinguished solo career and was also a founding member of both the Byrds and Crosby, Stills & Nash has died.

Crosby was born on August 14, 1941 and died on January 18, 2023. He was 81 years.

In 1994, David Crosby was the recipient of a highly publicized liver transplant which was funded by Phil Collins.

Crosby suffered from Type 2 diabetes and was treated with insulin to manage the disease.
Crosby also had liver problems which stemmed from a long run with hepatitis C.
He was also a drug and alcohol addict.
In February 2014, after his doctor’s recommendation, Crosby postponed the final dates of his solo tour in order to undergo a cardiac catheterization and angiogram, based on the results of a routine cardiac stress test.
Crosby is survived by his wife Jan Dance and children: Beckett Cypher, Django Crosby, James Raymond, Bailey Jean Cypher, Donovan Crosby and Erika Keller Crosby.
