Ain’t It Cool News stated on April 3, 2014, that Dan Trachtenberg would make a film dubbed Valencia for Bad Robot Productions, which was later confirmed to be a code name for 10 Cloverfield Lane.

The trailer for the film was published on January 15, 2016, and producer J. J. Abrams revealed that the concept was formed during production, with the goal of creating a picture that was closely linked to Cloverfield while keeping the title a secret.
Trachtenberg’s participation in television grew when he directed the first episode of the Amazon series The Boys, taking over from Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg owing to scheduling issues.

He was also touted as the director of a live-action film adaptation of the video game franchise Uncharted, however, he departed the project in August 2019.
Trachtenberg was hired by 20th Century Studios to direct Prey, the fifth episode in the Predator film series, in November 2020. His contributions to the film earned him two Primetime Emmy nominations.
On June 28, 2023, it was reported that Trachtenberg would helm at least one episode of the Netflix series Stranger Things’ final season.
