Who Is Cody Simpson?

Cody is a talented singer turned professional swimmer.

Born on January 11, 1997, Cody is known for his solo albums: Paradise (2012), Surfers Paradise (2013), Free (2015), and Cody Simpson (2022).

He played the lead role of Dmitry in the Broadway musical Anastasia between November 2018 and April 2019.

Cody Simpson Early Life

Cody was born in Meadowbrook, Queensland, Australia to his parents Brad and Angie Simpson.

He went to All Saints Anglican School and began music in 2009 when he sang on his YouTube channel, the lyrics “I’m Yours” by Jason Mraz, “Cry Me a River” and “Señorita” by Justin Timberlake, “I Want You Back” by The Jackson 5, including his own songs, “One” and “Perfect”.

Cody Simpson Swimming Career

Cody had enrolled at the Miami Swimming Club, where he was coached by Ken Nixon.

From there, he went ahead to win two gold medals at the 2009 Queensland Swimming Championships.

In 2019, Cody the team of swimmers at the University of Southern California (USC).

While at the USC, he was coached by two-time Olympian Brett Hawke.

Cody took part in the 2022 Australian Swimming Championship and finished third place in the 100m butterfly final.

His win had qualified him for the 2022 Commonwealth Games.

In addition to this, Cody is training for the 2024 Summer Olympics and this time, he is being coached by Michael Bohl.
